Enjoy, as I asked Jim Pinneo a few questions about himself, and the company he created.
When did Black Knight Termite Pest Control start as a company?
In December of 1997 the company was started by Jim, and then business partner. The idea of starting his own Pest Control Company began when he was selling commercial pest control for Okin, and he thought to himself-
“Hey, I can do this on my own.”
And that is what he did!
When asked what he enjoys most about the Pest Control business Jim answered,-
“Termite Construction, and striving to please the homeowner with the completed termite repairs. When termite work is done on a property the satisfaction of the home, or business owner is the main challenge. The goal is to have the finished repairs look as though the termite damage had never taken place. Restoring the damaged area to better than before is the end result every time- guaranteed.”
Being a devout Christian, Jim finds the ecosystem fascinating with all of Gods creations, and how all things, even insects have a purpose. Explaining how pests play a vital role in the universe is something Jim spoke on passionately during our talk.
At the end of the interview Jim laughed when answering the question-
What advice would you give to someone looking to start up their own business?
Answering- “Don’t do it in California.” But in all seriousness Jim said,
“Choose something you enjoy!”
Lastly, I was curious on what Jim had in mind for the future of Black Knight Termite and Pest Control, and what his goal is at this time. He answered,
“To grow the company even more that it has, and expand the crew of professionals”
Looking at the growth of the company I would say Jim, and the entire Black Knight Family, he is well on his way of getting to that goal.
Together with his daughter Megan Lorack the vice president of Black Knight, Jim is a true example of a successful “small” business. Though I am not quite sure Black Knight is still considered a small business with its growing crew of professionals. Even expanding non chemical pest control service treatment options with sister company, Thermal Heat Pest.
When Jim is not in the office or on a job site you can catch him spending time with his four daughters, beautiful wife Claudia of over 45 years, and nine grand kids! It’s safe to say that Jim is a very busy man, running a business, and watching over his growing family.
