Hornet Problem

Did you know Hornets can actually be an alternate form of pest control? Unlike bees a hornet’s stinger stays intact when it attack, therefore they do not die after they sting. Attracting and Deterring Hornets

Sugary ripe fruits like figs, apples, and pears tend to attract hornets. Limiting the amount of sugary fruits could help to prevent them from swarming your property. To keep them away from yourself, avoid wearing floral scented fragrances. Similar to other pests certain plants/smells will help repel hornets. Try planting or displaying, eucalyptus, thyme, and citronella, around the perimeter of your home in efforts to keep them at bay. Another word of advice in keeping hornets, and other wasps away is to seal up any dog food and or bird seed, avoid leaving it sitting out if possible. Lastly, and as always, keep it CLEAN! Avoid clutter, even outdoors.
