How soon after Christmas do you pack up the decorations? Are you the type to give it time and hold off till the New Year, or are you cleaning up along with the torn up wrapping paper? What ever you clean up timing looks like there are some Pest Prevention tips that you will won’t to consider before packing up for the season.
Holiday Clean Up Tips:
Choose plastic bins over cardboard that can be easily chewed through by rodents.
Before packing away string lights ensure that they have not been damaged by rodents.
After moving a real Christmas Tree, or any other greenery vacuum and mop where needed.
Wash linens, especially after having guests.
Wipe baseboards, and countertops.
Throw out unwanted left over food. Kept food and snacks should be stored in air tight containers.
Limit clutter throughout the home.
Inspect crawl spaces and attics before storing decorations.
Store a fake tree in a plastic tree bag so that it is not left exposed for the entire year.
